New Athletic Training Facility

The Athletic Training department at NAU recently moved to a new and improved location.  The new location is on the 1st floor of the Roosevelt building, right next to the MavShack.  The department upgraded to new equipment and a much better facility.  The new department includes a student lounge, a classroom, a weight room, and equipment room, along with two offices for Robert and Josh.  If you haven’t had a chance to tour it yet, we encourage you to take the time to stroll through the department.  If nothing else take advantage of the weight room.

The new facility is a huge plus compared to the facility we had before.  The Athletic Training department was previously located in a long building located behind the Jefferson Library.  The upgrade of equipment helped immensely with updating the facility.  After the NAU Athletic Training department became accredited last year, part of the stipulation was that it would relocate next to the gym, which is an advantage for all athletes who enter our gym.

The official grand opening of the facility was recently held on May 2nd, 2006.  It included a tour of the department, students applying what they have learned, and meeting the faculty.  It was a memorable day for the Athletic Training department and one as well for NAU as a whole.  Congratulations to the new and improved Athletic Training facility.
